This report was prepared by the Electromagnetics and Novel Applications Laboratory of the University of Cyprus within the framework of measuring and assessing the electric and magnetic field levels by AC power systems at the location of interest:

  • Substation “S/S LIMNARIA GARDENS No.702”, Paphos. The measurements were conducted on 03/12/2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in accordance with IEC 62110:2009.

More specifically, the evaluation of electromagnetic fields in the frequency range 5 Hz – 32 kHz was carried out using the NARDA EFA-300 Isotropic Field Analyser. Measurements were taken around the perimeter of the substation at a height of 1.0 m above the ground. Additional point measurements were also performed indoors at the specified apartment, at a height of 1.0 m above ground level (non-standardized measurements outside the IEC 62110:2009 procedures).

The recorded measurements were compared to the reference levels described in the Council Recommendation of 12th July 1999 on the limitation of exposure of the general public to electromagnetic fields (0 Hz to 300 GHz), 1999/519/EC. Compliance with these recommended levels ensures that the basic restrictions are respected. These reference levels are in alignment with Cypriot legislation.

A summary of the low-frequency magnetic field results per measurement point is presented in the table below.
