The School of Modern Greek was founded in 1998 and operates under the auspices of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Cyprus.
The School is staffed by individuals who, apart from their teaching skills, have a special interest in the teaching of Greek as a second language and whose research work is directly related to the field of teaching Greek as a second language.
CERTIFICATION EXAMS FOR LEVELS A2, B2, C2
The School of Modern Greek of the University of Cyprus organizes examinations to assess the level of knowledge of the Greek language. Twice a year, in December and May, exams are organized for the levels A2 (basic knowledge) for special purposes, B2 (very good knowledge), and C2 (excellent knowledge). The examinations are also offered to those who hold a degree from departments or private schools where the language of instruction is not Greek.
The cost of the examination is 80 EUR.

The School of Modern Greek offers face-to-face and online Greek language learning programmes at all six levels defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Certificates of all levels are also accepted by the Civil Registry and Migration Department, the Public Service Commission, the Education Service Commission (GR) and the Cyprus Ministry of Education.
