A Talk at KIOS

On February 22 the ERA Chair in Science and Innovation Policy and Studies Prof. Zacharias Maniadis was the invited speaker of the KIOS Training Series at the University of Cyprus. His talk “Open Science and Research Assessment”  covered the basic principles of meta-research, the reproducibility crisis in science and its implications, and the challanges in research evaluation. The event was well attended by a large number of early career researchers from the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence. The participants could learn about both the scientific evidence urging the reform of research assessment, and some of its practical consequences, such as the emerging use of “Narrative CVs” in grant applications.
