Sofia Bazzoni

F14 Sofia Bazzoni (UNI BA)

Sofia Bazzoni is a doctoral candidate at the University of Bamberg (Germany), working under the supervision of Katharina Christa Schüppel. She holds an MA in Art History from the University of Padua (Italy). Her main research interests include the history of miniature. She also has a strong interest in medical history and botanical traditions, within a framework of exchange between text and image. Her research project entitled ‘Ecologies of Healing: Visual Storytelling in Medieval Medical Manuscripts and Herbals’ focuses on botanical illustrations and the tradition of monastic pharmacies in the Middle Ages, exploring how they contribute to our understanding of the evolving concept of human healing over time.
