Vasiliki Bougatsou

F11 Vasiliki Bougatsou (ULUND)

Vasiliki Bougatsou is a doctoral candidate at the University of Lund (Sweden), working under the supervision of Christian Høgel. She holds an MA in Classical Languages, Literatures, and Ancient History from the University of Padua (Italy). Her main research interests include insciptions, Greek paleography and textual transmission. She also has a strong interest in manuscript tradition and the history of medical texts. Her research project entitled ‘The Pictorial Narratives of Herbal Medicine in Dioskorides’ De Materia Medica’ focuses on the narrative functions of pictorial representations in Dioskorides’ manuscripts and explores how text and image interact in the transmission of herbal medical knowledge.
