Project Description / Uses
The Building Facilities consist of a complex of 14 independent buildings.
The complex includes 208 individual rooms in three basic types, as well as common and other functional support areas (living room, laundry, post office, tenant service office, etc.) distributed in 12 and 2 separate buildings, respectively.
Unit/room types:
Type A (48 rooms)
Each unit/room has a bathroom for exclusive use. For every 12 units there is a shared living room with a kitchen.
Type B (144 rooms)
Each unit/room has a sink for exclusive use. For every 8 units there are shared bathroom facilities and a shared living room with a kitchen.
Types C&D (16 apartment-type rooms)
Every 2 units/rooms have a shared bathroom and kitchen. 4 of the total 16 rooms (2 ground floor apartments) are suitably equipped for use by persons with disabilities.
The rooms are arranged in 3 different building clusters:
The 1st cluster with 4 buildings includes the type A rooms.
The 2nd cluster with 5 buildings includes the type B rooms.
The 3rd cluster with 3 buildings includes the type C rooms.
The organic connection of the two clusters (1st & 2nd), both between themselves and with the individual buildings, is achieved through external corridors/pathways and circulation ramps. These routes, constitute a dominant characteristic element of the architectural expression of the project.
The development is complemented by landscaped outdoor areas centred on the central square.
