The project is being executed under the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA 2021-2027,” co-financed by the European Union.
Project Description
The University of Cyprus (UCY) will progressively announce open tenders for the upgrade of the Buildings’ Energy Management System (BEMS) for campus buildings.
This initiative aligns with the University’s strategic plan to transition its campus into a sustainable and smart city, equipped to address future development challenges in a sustainable and flexible manner.
The primary goal of upgrading the BEMS control systems is to facilitate smart energy management of building systems, optimize fault detection, and simplify the programming environment for easier operation.
The project will involve upgrading the BEMS control systems, replacing components and sensors to meet new requirements, and installing smart energy valves and smart electricity meters at key locations across the networks.
Expected Results
- Reduced electrical and thermal consumption due to the smart management of building systems.
- Potential for unifying the BEMS systems of all campus buildings into a single system for optimal management.
