The first meeting of the Tamasio Free University, featuring Dr. Andria Andreou’s lecture “Byzantines on Stage: Modern Greek Theatre with Byzantine Subjects,” concluded with great success. Coordinated by Prof. Stavroula Constantinou, the event explored the creative afterlife of Byzantium in modern Greek theatre within the framework of the research project BStage (EXCELLENCE/0524/0251).

The research project “Byzantines on Stage: Reimagining Byzantium in the Modern Greek Theatrical Production” (BStage) – co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation (Programme "Excellence Hubs": EXCELLENCE/0524/0251) – participates in the free universities co-organised by the University of Cyprus and a number of Cyprus municipalities with the lecture “Byzantines on Stage: Modern Greek Theatre with Byzantine Subjects”.
