The open access volume Storyworlds in Short Narratives: Approaches to Late Antique and Early Byzantine Tales that is edited by the Director of CeMAR Stavroula Constantinou and the CeMAR Postdoctoral Researcher Andria Andreou has just been published.
It can be downloaded from https://brill.com/display/title/62156?language=en. Through its comparative and interdisciplinary perspective, the volume offers the first systematic approach to the early Greek tale. Focusing on both ancient Greek and Byzantine tales, this volume creates new knowledge in the fields of classics, medieval studies, and literary studies. Its chapters discuss the theory and poetics of tales, the art of storytelling, inherent features of the tale, and the arrangement, types, and characteristics of tales in collections. The chapters’ authors base their approaches on a rich variety of texts and writers that are here discussed for the first time in one volume.
