The new Electron Microscopy (Electron Microscopy Core Facility, EMCF) infrastructure
The new Electron Microscopy (EMCF) infrastructure of the University of Cyprus is a state-of-the-art research platform, offering advanced imaging, spectroscopy and analysis capabilities at the micro and nanoscale. The infrastructure serves a wide range of scientific fields, including Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, and Life Sciences, allowing for the investigation of the structure and properties of matter at the atomic level. The facility has a pass-through electron microscope and a high-resolution scanning microscope with a resolution of less than 1 nanometer.
The Department of Chemistry of the University of Cyprus plays a key role in the development, operation and utilization of infrastructure, actively contributing to the production of high-level research, the training of young scientists and the strengthening of cooperation with academic and industrial bodies in Cyprus and internationally.
