Summer Academy of Engineering and Technology Applications | Applications: March 30 – April 23, 2026

This year, the University of Cyprus is organizing the Summer Academies, which will take place from June 29 to July 3. This one-week program is designed for students who wish to explore scientific fields that interest them, become familiar with the university environment, and gain a first experience of student life.

Participants have the opportunity to choose among different Academies covering key scientific areas, including the Academy of Engineering and Technology Applications.

Program Activities

The Summer Academies program includes a variety of educational and recreational activities, such as:

• laboratories and experiments
• lectures and discussions with academic staff
• guided tours of university facilities and laboratories
• use of the Athletic Centre
• group and recreational activities
• time for social interaction

Instruction is delivered in Greek, and upon completion of the programme participants receive a certificate of participation.

Participation

The Summer Academies are open to students who have completed the 3rd grade of Gymnasium (lower secondary school), as well as students from Lyceums and Technical Schools.

As the number of places is limited, priority may be given to:

• students who have not previously participated in the programme
• final-year secondary education students
• earlier submitted applications

Accommodation and Meals

A limited number of participants may be accommodated at the University of Cyprus Student Residences, with priority given to students residing outside the greater Nicosia area.

During the programme, participants are offered daily:

• breakfast
• a mid-morning snack
• lunch

Participants staying at the Student Residences are also provided with an afternoon snack and dinner.

Participants who do not stay at the Student Residences are expected to arrive in the morning and depart in the afternoon, under the responsibility of their parents or guardians.
