The SUCY 2026 Architecture Seminar Series continues with its second lecture, titled “The Expanded Field of Architecture”, highlighting the evolving role of architecture in an ever-changing environment.
The event will take place at the Department of Architecture (75 Kallipoleos Avenue, Aglantzia), in the common area on the first floor, on Monday, 4 May, from 18:30 to 20:30.
Through curatorial approaches and reflections presented by participants of the exhibitions, the lecture explores the challenges and opportunities for expanding the field of architecture, aiming to strengthen its meaningful contribution to addressing contemporary social and environmental crises, including those arising from climate change.
Particular emphasis is placed on:
- the synergies between architecture and related fields such as landscape architecture, visual arts, and urban planning,
- the role of architecture in advancing social and environmental justice,
- as well as the “invisible” dimensions of the profession, especially in light of the growing influence of artificial intelligence.
The lecture features representatives of curatorial teams from the Cypriot participations in the Venice Biennale:

Representatives of the Cyprus Architects Association will also participate: Alkis Dikaios and Pavlos Feraios.
