On 14 February 2025, the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME) announced that the Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Cyprus Medical School, Dr. Nikolas Dietis, has been awarded with the The Clinical Teacher 20th Anniversary Award for his integration of Artificial Intelligence into his teaching practice. This prestigious international award is presented for the first time in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the scientific journal The Clinical Teacher.
The award is accompanied by the respective funding, for the planning and organization of a training workshop for medical students, which will train them in how to properly use Generative Artificial Intelligence to enhance and support their own learning. The workshop will be conducted by Dr. Dieitis at two leading universities in England and Scotland (University College London and the University of Dundee, respectively), as well as at the University of Cyprus Medical School.
