On November 20, 2024, Prof. Zacharias Maniadis and Dr. Lunzheng Li from SInnoPSis, University of Cyprus, conducted a training session on “Meta-Analysis and Meta-Data” as part of the ONISILOS MSCA COFUND programme (https://www.ucy.ac.cy/onisilos/).
The session provided postdoctoral researchers with an in-depth understanding of key concepts in meta-analysis, including its definition, the steps involved in conducting it, and the importance of preregistration, systematic literature reviews, and statistical assessment. It also addressed techniques for managing heterogeneity and bias, along with practical insights into selecting effect sizes, leveraging statistical tools, and adopting robust methodologies to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
SInnoPSis remains dedicated to fostering research excellence and training, as demonstrated by its active participation in the ONISILOS programme. We look forward to further opportunities to advance innovative methodologies that contribute to impactful research.
