The new EU-funded programme “Storytelling as Pharmakon in Premodernity and Beyond: Training the New Generation of Researchers in Health Humanities” (StoryPharm) of the Centre for Medieval Arts and Rituals (CeMAR, https://www.ucy.ac.cy/cemar/) of the University of Cyprus launches its activities as part of a two-day kick-off meeting event, which will take place at the Stelios Ioannou Learning Resource Centre on October 17–18. The event is free and open to the public.
StoryPharm was awarded a €5,1 million funding, as part of the competitive European Programme Horizon Europe (2021–2027), Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action – Doctoral Networks.
The consortium is made up by the University of Cyprus, the University of Bamberg (Germany), the University of Lund (Sweden), the University of Salerno (Italy), and the University of Cardiff (UK). The programme also involves a series of non-academic partners – pharmaceutical companies, museums, libraries, municipalities, and a publishing house.
The programme offers 19 doctoral fellowships and a high-quality multifaceted training so as to acquire important research and other transferable skills that will help them advance their careers in the sectors of research, health, education, and culture.
