Why did you choose our program at the University of Cyprus?
One of the reasons I chose this new outstanding program at the University of Cyprus was for its innovative courses in the various scientific areas of digital archaeology and its convenient location as I reside in Lefkosia, Cyprus.
Which aspects of the program were your favourite?
I enjoyed the small lab tutorials especially in relation to the GIS modules as the Professor and his team of professional researchers were able to focus on helping you progress and answered diligently any questions that may have arisen.
What would you suggest to students looking into applying for the program?
This program is suitable for anyone wishing to further pursue a career in any aspect of digital heritage and archaeology. The combination of practical application and theory, together with excellent teaching by the academic staff of the University of Cyprus and its facilities, equips the student with the much needed transferable skills to embark upon a successful career either academically or professionally.
What is your favourite memory from your studies at UCY?
I found classroom lectures and discussions were extremely engaging and enjoyable. I enjoyed the freedom of expressing and participating in the seminars with my peers from various ethnic backgrounds. I also found the Department of History and Archaeology a great community to be a part of.
Is there anything else you would like to share about your experience?
With this program I feel I have developed a variety of computer skills and learned the terminology and theory behind which will aid in future decision-making process in the world of cultural heritage management and in the dissemination of archaeological information to the public.
