Getting to Cyprus
Cyprus is conveniently located at the crossroads of three continents: Europe, Asia and Africa. Air travellers have two options: Larnaca (LCA) airport, situated in the southeast and Paphos (PFO) airport situated in the southwest of the island. Larnaca airport is the larger of the two airports and the closest to the University campus. Most European airlines offer connections to these two airports through their European hubs. It is also possible to reach Cyprus by sea through ferries that link Cyprus with Piraeus, the Greek islands and the Middle East.
Getting to the University of Cyprus
The University of Cyprus and the ECE Department are located in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. The university campus is approximately 50 km from the Larnaca airport and approximately 130 km from the Paphos airport.
Transportation from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia and back:
Airport Transfers - There are 3 options available for the participants’ airport transfers:
Option A: Airport Bus Shuttle Service (No reservation required, tickets purchased from bus driver).
With only €8 per adult and €5 per child (3-12 years) one way (including VAT and luggage), the Kapnos Airport Shuttle Company transfers you from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia and return with daily schedules, including weekends and public holidays to serve the transportation needs of all travelers. Option B: Public Taxis (Direct Payment to taxi driver)
Taxis are always available (24hrs) at both airports for your transfer to Nicosia. Prices should be in the 50-euro range.
Option C: Private Taxis (Prebooking required)

Getting to the ECE Department
The Department is currently operating for teaching and research at five (5) different locations:
- Aglantzias Avenue 91, 4th Floor, 2111 Nicosia (Faculty Οffices, Researchers’ Offices, and Research Laboratories, facilities for Research Center (IRIDA))
- Kallipoleos Avenue 75 (Old University Campus), 1678, Nicosia (Teaching Classrooms and Laboratories)
- Kallipoleos Avenue 38 (Amarral Building 27), 1678 Nicosia (Researchers’ Offices and Research Laboratories, facilities for Research Center (EMPHASIS), facilities for Research Center (IRIDA))
- Makedonias Avenue, Latsia (Teaching and Research Laboratories, facilities for Research Center (EMPHASIS))
- New University Campus, University Avenue 1, 2109, Aglantzia Nicosia (Teaching Classrooms, Research Centers (KIOS and FOSS))
