Job Shadowing Week for High School Students at the Faculty of Engineering
March 23, 2026The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cyprus successfully participated in the University of Cyprus “Open Day”, which took place on Sunday, 15 February 2026, attracting a large number of prospective undergraduate students and their families.
The aim of the Open Day was to provide meaningful information to visitors about the Study Programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering, covering the following fields:
Architecture
Electrical and Computer Engineering
Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
Civil and Environmental Engineering
At the same time, emphasis was placed on important aspects of the student experience, including academic matters, career prospects, accommodation, scholarships, financial support, student life, as well as social and psychological support services.
The programme of the event included a presentation by Professor Marina Neophytou, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as presentations by representatives and academic staff members of the Departments, who introduced the Study Programmes, specialisation opportunities, and career prospects available to graduates.
In parallel, information booths staffed by academic personnel of the Faculty’s Departments were in operation throughout the event, providing personalised guidance and answering questions from prospective students and their families.
The event concluded with guided tours of the Faculty of Engineering’s state-of-the-art facilities, as well as selected laboratories. The tours were conducted by student ambassadors (FAE Experience Ambassadors), who shared their personal experiences and daily life within the Faculty.
Through such initiatives, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cyprus reaffirms its commitment to offering high-quality education and actively supporting prospective students in making informed decisions about their studies and future careers.
