StoryPharm’s Induction Week at the University of Cyprus Marked a Great Success

From seminars to site visits, the StoryPharm Induction Week (16–20 June 2025) welcomed 19 doctoral fellows and partners to the University of Cyprus. Through an inspiring programme of lectures, workshops, and cultural activities, participants explored the foundations of health humanities and built strong interdisciplinary ties.

StoryPharm at IMC Leeds 2025!

StoryPharm participates in the International Medieval Congress 2025 at Leeds with the session “Healing in Byzantine Art and Hagiography”. It includes three contributions: “The 'Hands of God': Pharmaka in Early Byzantine Miracles” by Laurence Totelin; “Healing in Byzantine Art: Identities and Performances” by Mati Meyer; and “Byzantine Imperial Families as Beneficiaries of Healing Miracles” by Stavroula Constaninou.

StoryPharm Training in Critical Discourse Analysis

The EU-funded programme StoryPharm, coordinated by the Centre for Medieval Arts and Rituals (CeMAR) at the University of Cyprus, continues its training activities with the Training in Critical Discourse Analysis. Hosted by the Centre for Languages and Literature at Lund University from 15–19 September 2025, the event combines theory and practice in discourse analysis, the history of medicine, and narrative approaches to medieval and modern sources. The programme features seminars, workshops, and an excursion to Copenhagen, offering both academic and transferable skills.

BStage at Tamasio Free University

The research project “Byzantines on Stage: Reimagining Byzantium in the Modern Greek Theatrical Production” (BStage) – co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation (Programme "Excellence Hubs": EXCELLENCE/0524/0251) – participates in the free universities co-organised by the University of Cyprus and a number of Cyprus municipalities with the lecture “Byzantines on Stage: Modern Greek Theatre with Byzantine Subjects”.
