28th International Panel Data Conference

03–04 July 2023 | Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The Amsterdam School of Economics, University of Amsterdam, and the Department of Economics, University of Cyprus, welcomed participants to the 28th International Panel Data Conference. The conference brought together economists, econometricians, statisticians and social scientists using panel data in applied and theoretical research.

The programme covered topics such as factor models, dynamic models, non-linear models, network formation, spatial models, forecasting, finance, productivity, health, labour, income inequality, macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policy, banking, financial stability and sustainability.

28th Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists

27–30 June 2023 | Limassol, Cyprus

The conference took place in Limassol, one of the 100 European cities selected to receive EU support in achieving the goal of becoming Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030. The event included in-person sessions as well as selected hybrid events.

The conference was organised by The Cyprus Institute, the Cyprus University of Technology and the Department of Economics of the University of Cyprus.

Conference in Memory of Panos Pashardes

The Economics Research Centre and the Department of Economics of the University of Cyprus organised a small academic conference in memory of Professor Panos Pashardes. The aim was to honour Professor Pashardes’ contributions by bringing together co-authors and colleagues from throughout his career.

Proceedings were published in a special issue of the Cyprus Economic Policy Review, the journal that Professor Pashardes established in 2007 and edited for many years.

Econometrics Conference in Honor of Peter C.B. Phillips

Association of Southern European Economic Theorists 2012 Annual Meeting

ASSET, the Association of Southern European Economic Theorists, is a group of economics departments and research centres based in Cyprus, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey. Its purpose is to encourage the development of economic research that meets international standards in quantitative economics and econometrics.

The association promotes exchanges of researchers and ideas among institutions based in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean.

Search and Matching (SaM) Network

SaM is a European network of academic economists working on search and matching models, including labour market search, consumer search, money search and housing search. The network supports theoretical and applied research, facilitates collaboration, and provides opportunities for graduate students and early-career researchers to engage with senior scholars.

SED 2012, Society for Economic Dynamics Annual Meeting

22–24 June 2012 | Limassol, Cyprus

The 2012 meeting featured an exciting programme addressing the global economic situation, the slow recovery from the Great Recession, and the restructuring of the financial sector. Sessions covered sovereign debt, international default, financial contagion and a wide range of contributions in macroeconomics and related fields.
