“The Future of Europe: A Modern Economy or an Open Museum of a Glorious History?” – Public Lecture by Sir Pissarides 2025
February 28, 2025Annual Lecture of the Minister of Finance – 2025
April 14, 2025On, April 3rd 2025, our School had the pleasure of co-organizing an insightful and timely event in collaboration with the Cyprus Swiss Business Circle and the kind support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Cyprus.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Themis Themistocleous, Head of the EMEA Investment Office at UBS Wealth Management, delivered a masterful presentation titled “Global Economic Outlook, Geopolitics, and How to Invest in an Uncertain Environment.”
Dr. Themistocleous offered a comprehensive and engaging analysis of current global economic trends—from new U.S. tariffs and the future of globalization to the evolving roles of Europe and China. He also provided practical guidance on how investors can navigate uncertainty through diversification and long-term strategy. His insights sparked a thoughtful discussion on the intersection of politics, economics, and market behavior.
We were equally honored to hear from H.E. Ambassador Christoph Burgener, who emphasized the importance of Cyprus–Switzerland relations and the value of continued dialogue between our two countries.
This event is yet another example of how collaborative platforms can enrich public discourse and policy thinking.
Special thanks to our sponsors, Vassos Eliades Ltd and Sure Food, as well as to all the participants, who made this event possible.
