June 30, 2023In an atmosphere of joy and emotion, the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Cyprus awarded its excellent students who demonstrated outstanding achievement during the academic year 2022-23. At the event held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in the UCY Ceremony Hall, 28 symbolic awards were presented to young people in recognition of their social and humanitarian contribution as well as their dedication to active learning and research.
The opening of the event was marked by a greeting from the Rector of the University of Cyprus, Professor Tassos Christofides who praised the recognition of excellence as a factor in promoting education for the acquisition of knowledge and invited the graduates to stay close to their University.
The Dean of the School, Associate Professor Michalis N. Michael, spoke about the role of the humanities as tools for understanding the world.
The Faculty of Humanities is proud of the achievements of its students but also of the respect for the timeless and universal values they represent. Values such as the zeal for learning, the pursuit of education and the cultivation of the human spirit.
