The Career Centre lecture entitled “AI Beyond the Hype: The human skills that keep you valuable when everything is automated” took place on 25 February 2026.
The aim of the lecture was to offer students a realistic view of how the labour market is being transformed in the era of Artificial Intelligence and which skills are gaining real value. The discussion focused on the human element that is not easily automated, such as judgement, critical thinking, meaningful communication, collaboration, and responsible decision-making, directly linked to students’ academic path and their future professional development.
The keynote speaker was Dimitris Dimitriadis, a futurist, author, and strategic foresight researcher.
The event was opened with a welcome address by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University of Cyprus, Professor Tatiana-Eleni Synodinou.
