On 16 February 2026, the first public presentation of the Cypriot Archive of Doctoral Dissertations (CADD) was held at the University of Cyprus. CADD is the unified portal for recording and providing access to doctoral research produced in Cyprus.

The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of the University of Cyprus, Professor Tatiana-Eleni Synodinou, in her capacity as Coordinator of the CADD Implementation Team, underlined that knowledge gains real value when it is visible, discoverable, and openly accessible, noting that CADD strengthens the culture of open science and addresses a critical institutional and operational gap.

Addresses were delivered by the Rector of the University of Cyprus and President of the Council of Rectors, Professor Tasos Christofides, the Deputy Director General of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Mr Georgios Komodromos, the Director of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, Dr Terpsa Konstantinidou, and the Chair of the Board of the Cyprus Libraries Consortium, Professor Andreas Katsiotis, highlighting the importance of a coordinated national effort to disseminate the knowledge produced.

The implementation process was presented by the Director of the University of Cyprus Library, Ms Elena Diomidi-Parpouna, while the platform’s functionalities were outlined by the Director of the Library of Cyprus University of Technology, Mr Marios Zervas, and Ms Sylvia Koukounidou, Head of the Digitization and Archives Office of the University of Cyprus Library.
