General Information

The courses in Italian, offered by the Language Centre are designed according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Our courses are guided mostly by communicative approach principles and are based on practical activities linked to everyday life, which require the use of the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Particular emphasis is placed on interactive communication, focusing on language use in real situations. The general objectives of the courses are to enable students to communicate at different levels in a variety of contexts. Audio-visual and online materials are used during the courses to encourage students to practice the structures and topics learned in the classroom, and to promote self-learning and self-evaluation.

Important:
This course follows the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
The objectives of this A1-level course are to enable participants to understand and produce both spoken and written Italian at a basic level in order to satisfy personal needs and interests, to offer and seek information, and to communicate simply with Italians or during a visit to Italy.
A variety of communication situations will be introduced, requiring the exchange of everyday information and expressions aimed at developing all four language skills. These goals will be achieved through reading and listening comprehension activities, oral interaction, games, and—where possible—authentic audiovisual material.

Upon successful completion of the course, in addition to receiving a Certificate from the University of Cyprus, you may also be prepared—if you wish—for the PLIDA A1 level examination.

Minimum number of participants: 10, maximum: 15.
