The Language Centre has succeeded in building a vibrant community of researchers who are committed to pursuing research in order to promote excellence in language learning and teaching. We aim at high-quality research contributions that will impact not only the University of Cyprus and the Cypriot society but also the Language Learning and Technology Enhanced Learning world. The highly- skilled and motivated staff at the LC is actively working on European funded programmes, writing proposals for EU programmes, and applying the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. At the moment, there are three European programmes running at the LC:

  1.  Redesigning educational curricula and digitally afforded collaborations to promote multimodal learning experiences (REDESIGN), (In collaboration with the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence);
  2. Improvement of master-level education in the field of physical sciences in Belarusian universities (Physics), Capacity Building in Higher Education – Erasmus+, Education, (Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency EACEA ), (In collaboration with the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence);
  3. Comics for Inclusive English Language Learning, Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices – Erasmus+.

In the past, the Language Centre was a partner in the following EU programmes: Vocational Technology Enhanced Learning (VocTEL), Leonardo Da Vinci Transfer of Innovation, EU Lifelong Learning Programme; The Challenges of the Multilingual and Multicultural Learning Space in the International University (IntlUni), Erasmus Academic Network, EU Lifelong Learning Programme; Intercultural Dialogue and Linguistic Diversity (Moblang), EU Lifelong Learning Programme.
