The University of Cyprus announces the awarding of the «George and Androulla Vassiliou» Scholarships 2025–2026 to:
– Vasiliki Christodoulou, postgraduate master’s student in the Data Science – Statistics programme (Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences)
– Frixos Petrou, postgraduate doctoral student in the PhD programme in Architecture (Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering)
During a modest ceremony recently held at the University of Cyprus, in the presence of the Rector, Professor Tasos Christofides, as well as the leadership of the Schools of Graduate Studies, Pure and Applied Sciences, and Engineering, Mrs Vassiliou had the opportunity to meet and congratulate the first scholarship recipients.
At the same time, she emphasized that the future of our country depends on the vision of the younger generation — young people with a desire for knowledge, a willingness for further development, and dedication to progress. She stressed that investing in education and actively supporting students constitutes a meaningful contribution to shaping a sustainable and creative future for our society.
