BSc Economics
The BSc in Economics provides students with a strong foundation in economic theory and quantitative analysis, preparing them either for postgraduate studies in economics or for professional careers in fields such as accounting, finance, business administration, public policy, and consulting.

Programme Aims
- To prepare graduates for the demands of the modern labour market by providing a strong background in economic theory and econometric analysis, specialised knowledge across different fields of economics, and practical skills in research and analysis.
- To provide students with the necessary foundations for further studies in leading European and American postgraduate programmes aimed either at professional specialisation or advanced academic research.

Key Information & Requirements
To obtain the BSc in Economics, students are required to complete at least 240* European Credit Transfer System credits (ECTS). In addition, all of the following requirements must be fulfilled:

- At least 155 ECTS must come from courses offered by the Department of Economics (course code OIK/ECON), including compulsory courses of the Department (89 ECTS - OIK111, OIK112, OIK113, OIK121, OIK211, OIK221, OIK222, OIK223, OIK251, OIK252, OIK253, OIK397, OIK497) and restricted elective courses of the Department (11 courses × 6 ECTS = 66 ECTS).
- At least 24 ECTS from restricted elective courses either from the Department of Economics, in addition to those above, or from other departments, from the approved course lists provided below.
- At least 22 ECTS from free elective courses coming from at least three different Schools of the University. Students may, if they wish, take up to 6 ECTS in Sports courses. Regarding foreign language courses, only one first-level foreign language course may count as a free elective unless the student has also completed the second level, in which case both levels may count as free elective courses.
- 24 ECTS from the compulsory courses MAS 001, MAS 061, EPL 032 and EPL 037, which students take during the first year of studies.
- Completion of 15 ECTS in English language courses (GLO 100, GLO 101, GLO 209).
