Completion of the Internship Program for the academic year 2022
November 11, 2022From the 18th to the 24th October 2022, Dr. Pavlos I. Koktsidis hosted and coordinated the week-long Peace and Conflict educational and fieldwork programme with the participation of 23 Political Science students and two members of staff from the Department of Political Science of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Dr Pavlos I. Koktsidis together with Ass. Professor Iosif Kovras and Prof. Costas Constantinou introduced students to the aspects and specificities of the Cyprus Conflict through various activities including lectures with experts and guided visits at conflict-related sites across Cyprus (Buffer Zone, Famagusta- ‘Ghost Town’ Varoshia, Nicosia Green Line, British Sovereign Bases, Pentemili Beachfront, St. Hilarion) and various guided museum tours. Following completion of the programme, we would like to thank all students for their enthusiastic participation and immense interest during the programme and express our thankfulness to our dearest VT colleagues Prof. Yiannis Stivachtis and Prof. Scott Nelson for their contribution.
