CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Faculty of Humanities announces two annual “Community Contribution” awards of 250 euros each to be awarded to one undergraduate and one postgraduate student at the Faculty’s Award Ceremony in June 15, 2026. The awards aim to highlight the activities of the students of the Faculty and are considered an incentive to develop activities related to letters and service.

Eligible seniors are those who combine an overall GPA of 7.0 or higher (grades up to the previous semester of study) and, in the judgment first of the Department and then of the Faculty Board, notable contributions to letters and culture and/or social issues of a humanitarian nature. The following shall be considered as evidence of such a contribution:

  • Actions in the fields of literature and culture of Cyprus
  • Social and humanitarian initiatives
  • Publications in the field of creative writing, printed or electronic
  • Participation in theatre performances or plays and involvement in directing them
  • Music composition and performance
  • Voluntary work for charitable organisations or NGOs
  • Literary translation
  • Offering assistance (translation, interpretation, reading) to migrants, refugees, people with disabilities
  • Contribution to the preservation of endangered Cypriot languages and local traditions
  • Contribution to the Literature Club of the University of Cyprus or other Clubs related to the Humanities (Philosophy, Film, Theatre, etc.).

Please note that the activity must be exclusively voluntary in personal time and not within the framework of the curriculum, must have as its main objective personal and collective progress and must be of a certain duration.
