SUMMER SCHOOLS
An annual Summer School on MERIT-related fields and research methods is organised by the University of Cyprus (UCY) in the frame of the TWIN4MERIT project, starting in 2024.
The Summer School combines transferable skills sessions with advanced research training, offering Early Career Researchers (ECRs) opportunities to strengthen their grant writing capacity, gain insights into game theory and experimental economics, and engage with cutting-edge approaches to meta-research.
Programme topics include:
Identifying Funding Opportunities and Grant Writing
Game Theory & Experimental Economics
The Academic Job Market and Research Careers
Advanced Experimental Methods
Replication & Accumulation of Knowledge
Meta-Analysis and its Purpose
Preregistration, Documentation & Data Sharing
These sessions are delivered by UCY faculty, advanced partners, and invited experts, ensuring a balanced mix of practical training, mentoring, and research excellence. The programme is open not only to UCY members, but also to researchers and ECRs from across Cyprus. In addition, applications are encouraged from participants in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, reinforcing UCY’s role as an educational hub for the EMME region.
The aim is to establish the Summer School as an annual flagship event at UCY through the TWIN4MERIT partnership, continuing even after the project’s completion.
1st Summer School: 2–10 September 2024 (UCY)
2nd Summer School: 8–9 September 2025 (UCY Library, Stelios Ioannou Learning Resource Center – LRC019)
