ithin the project, annual coordination meetings of the TWIN4MERIT partners will be held at UCY or through online platforms where necessary. The annual meetings of the consortium in Cyprus will set the framework for an efficient coordination among partners and will promote collaborative research, joint proposal applications as well as co-supervision of Early Career Researchers. Furthermore, the annual visits of the internationally-leading partners to Cyprus will allow a direct mentoring of UCY staff and Cyprus ECRs and monitoring of UCY’s progress towards enhanced scientific excellence and innovation capacity.
Two online project meetings have already taken place:
- The introductory meeting of the project on 26/01/2023
- The official kick-off meeting of the project on 22/02/2023
CyRIMA Network Launched During National Research and Innovation Stakeholder Meeting
The launch of the Cyprus Research and Innovation Managers and Administrators Network (CyRIMA) was recently marked during a national stakeholder meeting that brought together representatives from universities, research organisations and policy institutions across Cyprus.
The meeting provided an important platform for dialogue on the evolving role of research management in supporting scientific excellence and innovation within the national research ecosystem. Participants discussed the growing importance of professional research management structures and the need to strengthen institutional capacities in order to support increasingly complex research activities.
Through presentations and discussions, the meeting explored the challenges faced by research managers and administrators in areas such as project management, research funding coordination, Open Science implementation and compliance with European research policies.
The establishment of CyRIMA represents an important step towards building a structured professional community dedicated to research management in Cyprus. By promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange among research support professionals, the network aims to contribute to the development of a more robust research and innovation system.
The event formed part of the wider dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities of the TWIN4MERIT project, which seeks to strengthen the institutional foundations of research management and to promote evidence-based policy dialogue within the European Research Area.
