ADMISSION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE (AFN) BASED ON INTERNATIONAL EXAMINATIONS
(IGCSE/GCE/BACCALAUREATE EXAMINATIONS OR OTHER EQUIVALENT EXAMINATIONS)

AFN has changed its requirements regarding admission criteria on the basis of GCE A’ Levels. The following are in effect for admission from the 2022-2023 academic year and later:
IGCSE/GCE in Modern Greek with minimum grade C or equivalent certificate of very good knowledge of Greek language. Three GCE A’ Levels (excluding Modern Greek) with one in Mathematics. Minimum grade combination for admission: A,B,B.

Please note that students are eligible to apply for admission to the University on the basis of International Examinations,

Α:   Βased on the process of external transfer, if they:

1)  Have been accepted to another University

Students are eligible to apply if they meet the admission criteria for international examinations as set by the Department they wish to be admitted to and they have been admitted and enrolled in an institution of higher education abroad.

Prospective students who have taken International Examinations and have secured a Conditional Offer can also apply for admission but their admission will be finalized once they provide proof that they have been enrolled in a higher education institution abroad.

2) Are studying at another University

Candidates for external transfer are entitled to submit an application for transfer to the University of Cyprus from the institution where they are enrolled from the first semester of their studies until the end of the eighth semester at the original l institution.

Candidates for external transfer must submit the grades they received in entrance exams (Pancyprian Examinations or Panhellenic Examinations). In case the candidate has not taken the entrance exams, he/she must submit the grades of the international exams that he/she has taken as well as a written statement that he/she has not taken the Pancyprian or Panhellenic Exams.

Process and timeline for applications

Applications for admission are accepted:

a) In March, July and October of each academic year for admission in the next academic semester for candidates who have not completed a semester at their original institution.

b) In March and October of each academic year for admission in the next academic semester for candidates who have completed at least one semester at their original institution.

 

Β:  Based on specific demographic criteria:

Cypriots that belong to the Religious Groups of the Republic of Cyprus (Armenians, Maronites, Latin), Cypriots with dual citizenship, repatriated Cypriots, Cypriots who are permanent residents abroad, the children of foreign service officers of Cyprus, Greek of Diaspora and foreigners can apply for a limited number of positions (3% of the incoming Cypriots students).

Process and timeline for applications

Applications for admission are accepted in April of each academic year.
